Our vision

We fight for a future where businesses, no matter their size or resources, easily navigate the complexities of compliance and use it to build trust and foster transparency. Our aim is to make compliance easily achievable, accessible, and affordable, transforming it from a burden into a strategic, competitive advantage. 

How it all started

Let’s go back to 2017.
GDPR had just been announced – and challenges for many businesses were waiting ahead.
So, what’s the first things you need to help businesses overcome these challenges?
A MacBook, a landline-phone, and an 11 square meter office in Port of Tuborg, just north of Copenhagen.

Our founder Martin Folke Vasehus becomes aware of an alarming problem in the compliance landscape: It lacks transparency. To him, technology was the means to fix compliance – and, by that, a way to uphold our society and democracy. Then, he started putting all his specialist knowledge and experience into a software to combine legal and IT expertise.

ComplyCloud’s GDPR product is launched , and we got our first customers.

We kickstarted our commercial push by hiring the first salespeople..

Card 2020
Yes, the ‘virus that must not be mentioned’ also paused us. But we came back strong – and actually had more growth..
2020
Card 2021
We got a chance to be in the spotlight at TechBBQ as a judging panel awarded us the prize of 40,000 DKK. Shortly after, we got funding of DKK 33.5 million from SEED Capital... which led to more growth and more colleagues. What a year!

This year, the strategic focus was on building the foundation of our departments by hiring strong profiles for our executive leadership, sales and marketing teams. Suddenly, we felt a bit ‘squeezed’ by sitting on only one floor: We then expanded to two floors.

Took ‘serious business’ to the next level as we kickstarted our strategy of entering international markets and set up a complete executive leadership team. Also, we won the Danish Legal Tech Award 2023  at the Nordic Legal Tech Day. Finally, this year, we launched our NIS2 product too.

One culture, four ways to describe it 

Different, but same

Just as much as we work to make compliance inclusive for everyone, we also want to make our culture inclusive for everyone. That’s why we’re a mix of 13 nationalities who share the same interests and like to meet across departments often. Whether it’s for company football, workouts, monthly Friday bars, company parties, and music festivals like Copenhell. 

Taking fun seriously

Adding humor into something so complex as compliance can humanize the topic – that’s why we don’t forget to have fun in the office every day. You’ll see that as our CEO is always up for a (bad) joke. Also, you can often hear our VP People & Culture, Sofie, spreading good laughs or the Marketing team cracking up in the afternoon.

Based on 5 years of experience in protecting the right of privacy, we also know that integrity, decency, and care should be the driver for compliance – but it should also be the driver for a strong ComplyCloud culture. We value colleagues who share our moral compass. Is that you?
